Getting around

From the airport, and around town

Agadir is easy to get around without a car.

From the airport

Al Massira airport is about 25 km from the city, around 30 minutes by car. Our driver waits in arrivals with your name — fixed price from €25, paid on arrival.

Petit taxis (orange)

Small orange taxis for trips inside the city, up to 3 passengers. Ask the driver to switch on the meter; fares are a little higher at night.

Grand taxis (cream)

Larger cream-coloured taxis between towns — Inezgane, Aourir, Taghazout. They are shared, or you can hire the whole car.

Buses and the trambus

City buses cover most areas, and since 2026 the Amalway trambus runs on its own lanes between the port and Tikiouine.

A car or a driver

For day trips, we arrange a rental car through a partner agency (price on request) or a private driver by the hour, from €60 for 6 hours.

On foot

The beach promenade — the Corniche — runs along the bay: the nicest way to get between the beach, the cafés and the Marina.

Good to know

Good to know before you come

Getting dirhams

The dirham is a closed currency, so you get it in Morocco: airport exchange, banks or cash machines. Keep your exchange receipts to change leftover dirhams back before you fly.

Cards or cash

Cards work in larger shops, supermarkets and many restaurants; carry cash for taxis, cafés and the souk.

Tipping

Appreciated, never expected: rounding up a taxi fare and around 10% in restaurants is common.

What to wear

Beachwear is fine on the beach and by the pool; in the souk and the old town, covering shoulders and knees is respectful.

Ramadan

The dates change every year (in 2027, from about early February to early March). Some cafés close during the day, the city comes alive after sunset, and clocks go back one hour.

Water

Most visitors drink bottled water; it is sold everywhere.

Phone & internet

Maroc Telecom, Orange and inwi sell prepaid SIM cards at the airport and in town — bring your passport.
